Whether you’re planning your first corporate volunteer day or looking to build on past experiences, TCAA makes it simple. We offer opportunities that are enjoyable, well-coordinated and worthwhile for your team and the community. 


Volunteer Opportunities for Groups of 8 or Fewer

Smaller teams can take part in targeted activities that meet critical needs within our community. These opportunities are hands-on, valuable, and available throughout the week. 

Food Pantry Volunteers

1. Food Pantry Support (5-8 people)

Sort food and distribute food to families in need.

Support our food pantry by stocking shelves, packing food boxes and serving our clients at the pantry window. The pantry is a lively, fast-moving space where every day looks a little different as we work to meet the needs of our neighbors.

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday: mornings & afternoons
  • Tuesday & Thursday: mornings, afternoons & evenings 

     

A meal service at our I-HELP Shelter

2. I-HELP Shelter Meal Service (5-7 people)

Provide and serve a meal to our shelter participants.

Prepare or purchase a meal for our I-HELP shelter participants. After serving the meal, your team can sit down and connect with participants over dinner. Sign Up

  • Any day, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM
  • Please note: the meal must be provided by the company or volunteers.

3. Congregate Meals Service (5-7 people)

Connect with seniors in our community.

Assist in serving nutritious lunches to seniors at our centers. Your team will help with meal setup and visit with guests, providing both nourishment and valuable social interaction to our senior participants.

  • 11 AM – 12 PM
  • Thursdays: Escalante Multi-Generational Center (2150 E Orange St., Tempe)
  • Fridays: Granite Reef Senior Center (1700 N. Granite Reef Rd., Scottsdale) 

Volunteer Opportunities for Groups of 11 or More

Larger teams can engage in a variety of projects that support our programs and the community. These activities are ideal for fostering teamwork while making a tangible difference. 

1. Host a Drive

Bring your team together to collect essential items for our community.  

Drives are an excellent way for your company to make a large-scale impact. Choose to host a drive to collect much-needed items, such as:

  • Food and Water: For individuals facing hunger or extreme heat.
  • Hygiene Items: Soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, and more.  
  • Heat Relief Items: Sunscreen, hats, reusable water bottles, and cooling towels.  

Drop-Offs: Drives donations can be delivered to our TCAA Services site at 2146 E Apache Blvd, Tempe:

  • Monday & Wednesday: 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 8 AM - 6 PM
  • Friday: 8 AM - 4 PM 

2. Kit-Building Activities (up to 25 people)

Assemble essential kits for the community.  

Your team can create kits that meet specific needs, including:

  • Hygiene Kits: Supply items like soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant for individuals experiencing housing instability.  
  • To-Go Food Bags: Pack non-perishable, ready-to-eat food such as crackers, protein bars, electrolyte powder, single-serve fruit cups, and pop-top tuna for those facing food insecurity.  
  • Move-In Kits: Provide basic household essentials for individuals transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.  

Important Note: Sponsorship Required

TCAA relies on donations to provide these kits. To host a kit-building event, your company can sponsor the activity by:

  • Purchasing the Items: We’ll provide a detailed list of supplies for the selected kit(s).
  • Running a Drive: Collect the needed items through an internal or external campaign before the event. Our team will work closely with you to ensure a seamless and impactful experience. 

3. Host a Virtual Drive

Engage your team in a simple, convenient way to make a meaningful difference.

TCAA offers virtual water, food, or hygiene kit drives where your employees can easily participate from anywhere We’ll create a personalized webpage for your company, featuring:

  • Your Company’s Logo and Information: Showcase your company's commitment to the community.  
  • Goals and Progress Tracking: Set donation goals and watch your impact grow in real time.
  • Team Competition: Encourage friendly competition by allowing teams to create their own fundraising pages.  

Virtual drives enable TCAA to purchase essential water or other essential supplies in bulk, stretching every donated dollar to help more people in need.

Escalante Community Garden (up to 50 people)

Closed for Summer, Reopening in Fall

Love the outdoors and gardening? We would love your help! This is a great environment for volunteers of all ages.

2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. October-March, 8 – 11 AM; April, May, September, 7 – 10 AM. Garden is closed June-August.

4. Seasonal Events

Be part of making our events a success!

Volunteer at TCAA’s events throughout the year, including fundraisers, holiday events, and community gatherings. Help with setup, logistics, and event execution to ensure everything runs smoothly.
