Arizona Tax Credit

Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

Donate to Tempe Community Action Agency and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state income taxes, up to $506 for individuals and $1,009 for married couples filing jointly.

Your gift helps local individuals and families access food, housing assistance, and other essential resources when they need them most.

You can make a difference in your community while reducing your Arizona state income liability.

How Does the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Work?

Arizona's Charitable Tax Credit lets you support an approved nonprofit like TCAA and reduce the amount of Arizona state income tax you owe.

For example, if you donate $200 to TCAA, you may be able to reduce your Arizona state income tax by $200.

It's a tax credit, not a tax deduction. A deduction lowers the income used to calculate your taxes, while a credit directly reduces the amount of tax you owe.

How Much Can I Donate?

For the 2026 tax year, you can claim a credit of up to:

  • $506 for single filers, heads of household, and married individuals filing separately
  • $1,009 for married couples filing jointly

You can donate any amount. Your eligible donation can reduce your Arizona state income tax dollar for dollar, up to the applicable limit.

You don't need to itemize deductions to claim this credit.

How Do I Claim the Tax Credit?

It's simple!

  1. Donate to TCAA: make a qualifying cash donation to Tempe Community Action Agency.
  2. Save your receipt: keep your donation receipt for your tax records.
  3. Claim your credit: when you file your Arizona state income tax return, complete Arizona Form 321 and enter TCAA's QCO code: 20304.

When Do I Need to Donate?

You can claim qualifying donations made during 2026 on your 2026 Arizona state income tax return.

Donations made between January 1 and April 15, 2027, may also be applied to your 2026 return, using the 2026 credit limits. If you want to claim those donations under the higher 2027 limits instead, you'll need to claim them on your 2027 tax return, filed in 2028.

Why Give to TCAA?

Your donation helps your neighbors access nutritious food, housing assistance, and other essential resources. Every gift helps TCAA support individuals and families in our community.

Keep your tax dollars local and make a difference right here at home.
