Home Delivered Meals (HDM)
Volunteers are needed to package catered meals and/or deliver meals to the homes of home-bound older adults and adults with disabilities. Because of the deep connection and valued relationships that develop between meal carriers and participants of this program, a minimum six month volunteer commitment is expected. Meal carriers must also have a reliable car and present proof of Arizona Driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance. Mileage reimbursements are available. Volunteers who package the meals, as well as the drivers, will need to acquire a food handler’s card and all drivers (meal carriers) must obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. TCAA will assist volunteers in the process of obtaining food handler’s card and Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance. Attend a Volunteer Orientation and shadow a volunteer or staff member to learn more.
