Thank you doesn’t begin to capture how grateful we are for you-our incredible community. 2025 brought challenges for many. The uncertainty of federal funding, the government shut down and freeze of SNAP benefits put a strain on many individuals and families. On top of that, an October storm warranted the Mayor of Tempe to declare a state of emergency in Tempe. TCAA partnered with the city to provide food and other relief services. You responded with an increase of 35% in food pantry donations! This has given us a reserve of food that we can tap into when need suddenly increases. We are beyond grateful for this ability to be prepared! Please read on to learn of upcoming events-Tempe Empty Bowls and VICINITY! |
Another great moment at the end of 2025 was receiving this letter from a 9- year-old and their younger sibling. Seeing young people already moved to give shines a hopeful light on the future! We are excited to have them as part of our volunteer family! |
Bumble Bee Air Conditioning and owner Lisa Bayne have supported TCAA for many years.
No surprise, TCAA is just one of many benefactors of their generosity, which is why the Mayor officially proclaimed 'Bumble Bee Air Conditioning Appreciation Day' last month. Congratulations to Lisa and her team!

In partnership with the Tempe Fire Fighters and Target, this event brings so much joy to our Health Start families. This year, 133 children were accompanied by a fire fighter and choose up to $100 worth of gifts. Santa and the Grinch visited, and they enjoyed a meal together. In addition, the Fire Fighters provided much needed diapers to families that needed them. |
Since 2023, Marcos's DECA Club has supported our Health Start Program. This year they participated in two holiday events. They provided essential clothing for pregnant and postpartum mothers, provided over 100 toys, and created engaging activities for the kids.
We are grateful for these young leaders in our community! |
The 18th Annual Sue Ringer National Homeless Persons' Memorial Service was held December 21st, the longest night of the year. We remembered 20 lives lost while living on the streets. Their names were said allowed, and a candle was lit for each. |
Tempe Empty Bowls is a beloved, family-friendly community event where art and compassion come together to help fight hunger in our community.
Students and professional artists create beautiful handcrafted bowls that are sold at the event, with proceeds supporting our hunger relief programs.
Guests will also enjoy a bowl of soup generously provided by Rosita’s Fine Mexican Food, representing what some individuals may have to rely on for an entire day.
