Supporting you during and beyond COVID-19
The uncertainty caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be felt across the world. In an effort to help individuals and families during the current health crisis, TCAA programs remain operational and sites are opened, however, some services have been reduced to phone-based only. Face masks and social distancing requirements apply at all TCAA offices. Click here for additional program details.
The following programs and services are available to assist your family or household during the pandemic:
COVID-19 Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance
Tempe and Fountain Hills households impacted by COVID-19--either by illness or financial hardship--can tap into rent and utility assistance funds through TCAA. Other eligibility conditions apply. Click here for additional information or contact TCAA's hotline (480-389-1375) during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM) to speak with TCAA regarding your mortgage concerns.
Meal Programs for Seniors and Adults with Disabilities
Meals-to-Go: Tempe seniors and adults with disabilities who would have participated in lunches offered at the Cahill, North Tempe, or Escalante Senior Centers in Tempe, or Granite Reef Senior Center in Scottsdale, may now access TCAA’s “meals-to-go” service. Meals-to-Go are balanced, nutritious catered meals that are distributed daily in Tempe (Monday-Friday) from 10-11 AM at the North Tempe Senior Center, South entrance, and in Scottsdale at the Granite Reef Senior Center during the lunch hour. Order your meal at least one day in advance by calling our senior nutrition information line at 480-858-6511.
Home-Delivered Meals: TCAA is expanding its home-delivered meal service for home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities in Tempe and South Scottsdale who are having difficulty meeting their nutritional needs at this time. If you are in need of a home-delivered meal, contact Area Agency on Aging’s senior helpline at 602-264-4357 to register.
Home-Delivered Food Boxes are available to seniors currently enrolled in TCAA's Neighbors Helping Neighbors and Senior Meal programs. If you are currently receiving catered meal services from TCAA and are in need of a food box, please contact your TCAA Case Manager or program representative.
TCAA's Food Pantry is open Monday-Friday, 7:30-10:30 AM, and Tuesday/Thursday evenings 4-6:30 PM. Bring a photo ID and a letter addressed to you at your Tempe residence to access a food box. Food boxes are also being distributed at Tempe and Kyrene school sites for families with enrolled students. Contact your school location or district office for details.
I-HELP Emergency Shelter for Adults
TCAA is continuing to operate the I-HELP Emergency Shelter program in partnership with Tempe area faith organizations and other organizations for unsheltered men and women in Tempe. Nightly locations may change on short notice.
