FIGHT HUNGER ONE BOWL AT A TIME!
Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and organizations on a community level. Tempe Empty Bowls is a free community event featuring a beautiful selection of hand-crafted bowls and live, family-friendly entertainment.
Participating artists and students across Tempe schools create and donate pottery bowls. At the event, guests are served a simple meal of soup and bread provided by Whole Foods Market Tempe. The bowls represent the empty bowls in households across our community where seniors, adults and children are experiencing food insecurity and hunger.
In exchange for the meal and bowl guests contribute a donation. One hundred percent of the proceeds are devoted to local hunger-fighting initiatives. Tempe Empty Bowls benefits Tempe Community Action Agency and United Food Bank, in their joint efforts to provide hunger relief to vulnerable Tempe households.
